Tom, Tom the Piper's Son
Tom, Tom the Piper's Son
The figure of a boy named Tom crops up in several nursery rhymes. This version of the nursery rhyme combines two of them into one song: In one he steels a pig and suffers the painful consequences and in the other we learn about when he learned the art of piping and which tunes he can play. I have chosen to use a clapping game to introduce this song to the children. Ideal for the 2nd half of a class 2 or the beginning of class 3 as it is quite complex and challenging as far as clapping games go.
